Compliance with EPR rules for textiles

Textile licensing and compliance as the EPR rollout gathers pace: partner with Interzero and get peace of mind for your EPR textiles compliance in the EU

Extended producer responsibility systems for textiles are being rolled out in country after country. As of today, however, the relevant rules and regulations are not uniform within the EU. We help you fulfil your legal duties while also keeping you up-to-date about changes to applicable legislation.

Stay compliant EU-wide with Interzero’s international EPR service

The Waste Framework Directive (WFD) includes a provision that requires EU member states to set up a separate collection system for textiles by 2025. Several countries – including France, Hungary, Netherlands and Latvia – have therefore now taken the first steps towards establishing an EPR system. Once these systems are operational, producers will be required to participate in the take-back and recycling of old clothes and textiles. EPR systems can also use levers such as eco-fee modulation to create incentives for more sustainable product design. Many other countries have also completed planning for their EPR schemes, which they plan to roll out over the next few years.

Recognising the difficulty of navigating the approaches to implementing EPR rules in multiple countries while staying on the right side of the law, Interzero has now expanded its EPR Compliance Service to include textiles. From registration with the producer responsibility organisations (PROs) and the national authorities to quantity declaration or the appointment of an authorised representative, Interzero handles all of your compliance duties on your behalf. We also advise you on other relevant topics such as mandatory labelling, sustainability targets.
