Working together for a city without waste
Interzero is supporting Berlin on its journey to becoming a Zero Waste City
Avoiding waste and protecting the environment: the Berlin Senate wants to turn the German capital into a “Zero Waste City” – and make it a pioneer of the modern circular economy. In particular, this also requires an expansion of recycling. It is necessary for recyclable materials to be reused and recycled more consistently than before. When waste is incinerated, valuable raw materials are lost forever.
Harnessing the market power of private suppliers
The Berlin waste management concept provides an appropriate framework for advancing the transformation towards a “circular economy”. The Berlin Senate is setting a good example here, and with its administrative regulation for sustainable procurement, has sent an important signal for the widespread use of recycled raw materials. Using the dynamic market forces of private suppliers pays off in both economic and ecological terms. Already at the end of 2020, the ALBA Group, to which Interzero belonged at the time, concluded a climate and environmental protection agreement with the federal state of Berlin. We remain committed to the promises made in this agreement. As an environmental service provider which is committed to “zero waste solutions”, Interzero is actively supporting the German capital on its path to becoming a “Zero Waste City” both today and in the future.
