Top score for the Circular Economy – Interzero @ IFAT 2024

Securing of raw materials as well as innovative and individual cycle management

Five days of IFAT are behind us. Five days full of inspiring conversations, interesting people and exciting duels at the basketball hoop. IFAT 2024 – the world's leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management – more than lived up to its promise of being a solutions platform, knowledge hub and networking event. Interzero presented itself at the trade fair for the first time with a Group-wide presence and its entire portfolio, showcasing its wide range of products and solutions for closing product, material and logistics loops as well as everything about innovative plastics recycling.

‘With Interzero, our customers are opting for sustainable securing of raw materials for the future as well as innovative and individual cycle management – digital and analogue from a single source. We were able to present this approach for the first time at this year's IFAT under the newly formed Interzero brand,’ said Sebastiaan Krol, CEO Interzero Circular Solutions, on the sidelines of the trade fair. ‘I am very happy about every conversation and the exciting exchange during IFAT – the circular economy is a team sport. Together can we manage to push Earth Overshoot Day further back,’ continued Krol.

The circular economy is developing dynamically. That wasn’t to be missed at this year's IFAT. The question of ‘what's next?’ was a recurring topic of debate. This was also the case in the panel discussion on ‘Circularity in the textile sector’, in which our expert for circular textiles Julia Haas, together with Dr Julia Hobohm and Jonas Stracke, exchanged views on extended producer responsibility (EPR) in the textile industry. Definitely a highlight. As were the various sessions on the prospects for chemical recycling and the exchange on sustainable and recyclable packaging design.

And the top score? The high score was outperformed ten times – in a duel at our basketball hoop, ten particularly talented visitors to the stand each secured a jersey from the German basketball league team ALBA BERLIN – which not only made the Albatros happy, who always created a great atmosphere at the Interzero stand.
